Born in London, England, on September 14th 1983, Amy Winehouse broke into the music business when, at age 16, a classmate passed on her demo tape to a record label. She signed her first record deal as a jazz vocalist, and her music later blossomed into an eclectic mix of jazz, pop, soul and R&B.
She was known for her deep, expressive contralto vocals and her eclectic mix of musical genres, including soul, rhythm and blues, and jazz. Winehouse's debut album, Frank, was a critical success in the UK and was nominated for the Mercury Award.

Amy Winehouse won five Grammy Awards for her 2006 album Back to Black, and is remembered for songs like "Rehab," "Back to Black" and "Valerie." She died in 2011, at age 27.






She was one of the British most iconic singers and song-writers.  She died on the age of 27th, leaving a great legacy in world music history, although in young age but she managed to join the club of "27th legends" among with giant music names such as: Curt Cobain of Nirvana, Jim Morrison of Doors, Jimmy Hendrix, Janis Joplin, etc...
